Buckeye Veterinary Service believes in the mentor/student relationship. Our philosophy is to extend the education of young veterinarians through hands-on clinical experience and close mentorship.
Exposure to the rich and varied horse population in Northeast Ohio, from hunter/jumpers and dressage to 4-H and Amish horses, will make your internship/externship invaluable. You will see it all
A unique aspect of Buckeye Veterinary Service is camelids. Conveniently located in the heart of alpaca country, and having 30% of our practice active with camelids, you will have many opportunities to expand your experience with and knowledge about the species.
Our goal is to turn out a well rounded, quality veterinarian. You will work side by side with each doctor where you will experience different styles of client communication and education. Your diagnostic skills will be sharpened by the nature of the case load and interaction with seasoned veterinarians. Including everything from routine preventive medicine to 24 hour emergency care, your internship/externship will be challenging and fun.
